The position, located in Bonn, Germany, may be filled as soon as possible and is limited to 31 December 2025.
The researcher will contribute research on environmental justice dimensions related to restoring ecosystems and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in the Klimalog project funded by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). In its current phase (2023-2025), the project focuses on analysing multilevel climate governance and policies of international cooperation that strive towards a climate-resilient and ecologically sensitive just transformation. The researcher will explore i. the environmental justice implications generated or reinforced by restoration NbS; ii. the genesis of the NbS concept and of its epistemic community; iii. the applicability of socio-environmental safeguards to and their effects on NbS. In addition to conducting research, the position will offer opportunities to engage in policy advice based on research findings and to build and consolidate networks.
