Job Announcement: Student assistant (m/f/diverse) Programme Environmental Governance

The German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) is one of the leading research institutions and think tanks for global sustainable development. It contributes, through research, policy advice and training, to finding answers to global questions affecting our future.


The IDOS Research Programme “Environmental Governance and Transformation to Sustainability” is looking for a student assistant in the Klimalog project to start as soon as possible for ideally one year. In its current phase (2023-2025), the project funded by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) focuses on analyzing multilevel climate governance and policies of international cooperation that strive towards a climate-resilient and ecologically sensitive just transformation.


The assistant shall ideally contribute to the following activities:

  • Creation of maps (for publications), basic mapping skills
  • Usage of EndNote for citations & reference lists
  • Support of other project activities, e.g. event organization & other organizational tasks

 

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in progress, preferably on subjects related to the project (e.g. political science, development studies, (human) geography, social sciences)
  • Organizational skills
  • Good command of EndNote, MS Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Experience with mapping tools (QGIS, ArcGIS)
  • Fluency in German and English

This job offer is exclusively for enrolled students. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a master’s programme at a German University. Candidates who already have a master’s degree are unfortunately not eligible for formal reasons, even if they are enrolled in another master’s programme.
