Job advertisment: Student assistant (f/m/diverse) Managing Global Governance (MGG)

The German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) is one of the leading international think tanks and research institutions. IDOS supports a global public welfare policy geared towards the concept of sustainable development through interdisciplinary research, impact-oriented policy advice and internationally oriented training.

 

As one of the IDOS research programmes we are dealing with Inter- and Transnational Cooperation. We are looking for a student assistant (f/m/diverse) from 1 April 2024 onwards.

 

Our research cluster includes the Managing Global Governance (MGG) Programme, which is focusing on strategic knowledge cooperation on global challenges and for the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda with rising powers, in particular Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, and South Africa. This includes a training and dialogue format for young leaders (MGG Academy). On this basis, we conduct international research projects and policy dialogues together with our MGG partners.

 

We are looking for a student assistant to provide research and administrative support, with workplace at IDOS, Tulpenfeld 6, 53113 Bonn:

 

  • Research assistance on diverse topics related to international cooperation, global governance, and EU external action, including digitalization and global partnerships
  • Maintenance of literature databases (Endnote)
  • Editing of excel sheets, evaluations, texts, layout of documents
  • Technical and administrative support for physical and digital conferences and meetings

 

Qualification:

  • MA student status in Political Sciences, Social Sciences, Geography, Regional Sciences or similar
  • Interest in global development cooperation and international relations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English (C1-C2)
  • Good command of common software applications, especially Excel, Word, Power point
  • Social skills and cross-cultural skills
  • Organizing ability, diligence and autonomous working ability

 

Working time is 39,5 hours/month and will be remunerated with 13,50 €/hour. Candidates should be interested in the position for at least one year.
