Sustainability in the Digital Age
In their 2011 flagship report "World in Transition - A Social Contract for Sustainability", the "Wissenschaftliche Beirat der Bundesregierung Globale Umweltveränderungen / German Advisory Council on Global Change" (WBGU), sketched the transformation towards sustainability, which takes place in the context of profound digital transformations. The WBGU explores how digital technologies can support the change towards sustainabilty and elaborates that digitalisation itself produces sustainability challenges of a new generation.
