Africa’s social capital – strong enough for coping with COVID-19?

For centuries, people living in Africa have depended on social capital in coping with critical shocks. Can the continent’s social capital be part of the strategy to mobilise resources for a much-needed social safety net during the COVID-19 pandemic?
