The German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) is headed by two directors, who conduct research both in national and international research associations and in cooperation with projects from the research programmes. The development and knowledge sociologist Anna-Katharina Hornidge is director of the Institute and professor for global sustainable development at the University of Bonn. Deputy director Axel Berger accompanies the three training formats for young professionals: the Postgraduate Training Programme, the Managing Global Governance (MGG) Academy as well as the BMZ African-German Leadership Academy. He supervises the research and advisory activities on inter- and transnational cooperation as well as on the transformation of political (dis)order.
