The German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) is one of the leading international research institutes in the field of sustainable development and global policy. Through excellent research, policy advice, and innovative training, IDOS contributes to addressing key global challenges.
As part of our Managing Global Governance (MGG) programme, we collaborate with partner institutions from emerging and industrialised countries to promote the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. A core component of the programme is the MGG Academy – an English-language training and dialogue programme for future leaders from emerging countries. The next Academy will take place in Bonn from 11 September to 29 November 2026.
To support our team, we are looking for an intern (m/f/d) for a period of three months starting on 1 September 2026 to assist in the preparation and implementation of the MGG Academy.
Your tasks
- Supporting and accompanying participants of the MGG Academy during their stay in Bonn, including arrival and departure as well as potential study trips (e.g. to Brussels)
- Assisting in the organisation and technical implementation of training sessions
- Contributing to the implementation and further development of the social media and communications plan
- Creating and editing photo and video material (using a DSLR camera) and supporting its preparation for social media channels
- Assisting in the preparation and formatting of training materials, evaluations, Excel analyses, and other documents
- Supporting general project organisation and administrative tasks
Your profile
- Enrolled Bachelor’s or Master’s student in any field of study
- Initial practical experience in event management and/or public relations
- Ideally, experience in creating and editing photo and video material
- Interest in international politics and global cooperation
- Experience working with international and diverse target groups is an asset
- Very good written and spoken German and English; additional languages are welcome
- Confident use of MS Office; experience with e-conferencing tools, e-learning platforms, and digital collaboration tools is desirable
- Strong organisational skills, ability to work independently, creativity, and social and intercultural competence
- Willingness to be present at the IDOS office in Bonn and interest in business trips to Brussels as well as participation in multi-day seminars in the region

Important information
For Bachelor’s students, only a mandatory internship is possible. For Master’s students, both mandatory and voluntary internships are possible during the first Master’s degree. Please confirm in your application:

- your earliest possible starting date (ideally from 1 September 2026)
- that you are based in Bonn or the surrounding area or are willing to work regularly at the IDOS office in Bonn
