The G20 has recently established a Working Group on Development and is expected to adopt a comprehensive development agenda at the November Seoul Summit. The broadening of focus signals an important shift in the G20’s mission and will profoundly affect the international development system. The DIE publication “G20 and global development: How can the new summit architecture promote pro-poor growth and sustainability?” brings together 27 original contributions from the Global Governance Research Network (GGRN). The key message of the participating scholars from South and North can be summarized as follows: The G20 should become an effective driver of pro-poor growth and sustainability by concentrating on a development-friendly framework for the world economy and by deepening its outreach with the United Nations, non-member countries and non-state actors.
Die DIE-Publikation „G20 and global development: How can the new summit architecture promote pro-poor growth and sustainability?” vereint 27 Originalbeiträge aus dem Global Governance Research Network (GGRN).
