The workshop brings together researchers, policy experts and practitioners working at the intersection of health economics, health financing and development cooperation.

A particular focus is on current challenges and reform options in global health financing, including domestic resource mobilisation for health, health insurance, financial protection, benefit package design and strategic purchasing. The programme combines ongoing research with policy relevant discussion and covers evidence from a range of low and middle income countries.

The workshop also provides space for early career researchers to present ongoing work and receive feedback from more senior researchers. Overall, it aims to strengthen exchange between research and practice and to discuss how evidence can inform the design and implementation of health financing reforms.
