Event Type
Meeting

Location / Date
Bonn and online, 18.06.2025

Organizer

German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ); German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS)

On the occasion of SB62, an event of the Task Force on Linking Adaptive Social Protection and Climate Financing will bring together Parties, climate and social protection experts, multilateral climate funds and CSOs to advance key initiatives that place people-centered climate action at the forefront. It will present latest joint efforts to develop people-centered NDCs and scale up social protection in climate action and finance, while facilitating coalition-building ahead of COP30 and explore the role of climate funds to advance inclusive climate finance in this vein. COP30 under the Brazilian Presidency will mark a decisive point in both climate governance and financial architecture – with a focus on adopting highly ambitious NDCs and fostering synergies between the climate agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), both of which this event aims to advance.
