Land degradation, biodiversity loss and climate change are deeply interconnected challenges that require coordinated action across sectors, institutions and generations. Young people are already contributing to land restoration, nature-based solutions, climate adaptation and community resilience, yet many youth-led initiatives continue to face barriers related to financing, institutional participation, technical capacity and long-term partnerships. UNCCD COP17 provides an important opportunity to bring together youth leaders, governments, UN agencies, academia, civil society and development partners to exchange practical experiences, identify scalable approaches and strengthen collaboration across the Rio Conventions. The session will focus on moving beyond dialogue toward actionable recommendations, partnerships and pathways that can support youth-led restoration, advance Land Degradation Neutrality, and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.
