Event Type
Conference
Location / Date

The event discusses the implications of the war in Ukraine on energy and food security, industrial supply chains and environmental protection, and the role of the European Green Deal in addressing them. Policy coherence, social protection and international cooperation are key approaches considered.
The conference is based on the ETTG brief which argues that the European Green Deal is the EU’s best policy tool to address the implications of the war in Ukraine domestically and in developing countries, while mitigating long-term climate-related impacts. Speakers from the different European institutions and research centers will give their perspectives and valuable input and will seek to identify solutions and ways forward in response to the implications of the war.
Speakers:
- Leonardo Mizzi, Head of Unit, INTPA F3- Sustainable Agri-Food Systems and Fisheries
- Elina Bardram, Director ad interim, International Affairs and Climate Finance, DG CLIMA, European Commission
- Gabriela Iacobuţă, Researcher, German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) (representing the ETTG Network)
