Joshua Kurlantzick’s new book is a timely contribution that arrives at a crucial juncture: China’s economic rise is causing growing anxiety about its global influence more generally. After a decade in which China has pursued a “going out” strategy in the international media sector, we are now in a position to form some judgements about its effects.
