Job advertisement: Research assistant (m/f/diverse) Transformation of Political (Dis)Order

The German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) conducts high-quality research, offers independent policy advice, and facilitates transregional knowledge cooperation and training at the intersection of “development” and “sustainability”, with the aspiration to co-shape a collaborative multipolar world for sustainable futures.

The research department “Transformation of Political (Dis)Order” examines the normative and institutional conditions that explain public welfare-oriented policies. Theory-driven comparative empirical analyses form the basis for this. IDOS works in multidisciplinary teams together with international partners.

To assist with research tasks, the research department “Transformation of Political (Dis)Order” is looking with an immediate starting date for a
research assistant (m/f/diverse)

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be enrolled at a German university 
  • Master’s student in political science, social sciences, economics, or related, preferably with a focus on development policy
  • Strong experience in academic literature research and in reviewing qualitative and quantitative literature
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Proficient in working with statistical software (Stata and/or R)
  • Experience in reference management software (e.g., Endnote) is an asset
  • Good command of German and very good command of English
  • Independent and committed approach to work
  • Willingness to assist in organizing events at IDOS
  • Willingness to be present at IDOS on two days per week
