Since 2008, an international expert group has been working under the guidance of the OECD Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy on the question of how international co-operation in science, technology and innovation (STI) can be better organized to achieve faster and more effective knowledge-based responses to the challenges that hinder the advancement of global sustainable development. Seven case studies and five background papers on related governance dimensions have been written. The side event gave an overview of the issues raised and the main conclusions drawn in the project.
