Ombud's Office for Issues of Good Scientific Practice
To ensure the quality of its work, the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) acknowledges the Guidelines of the German Research Foundation (DFG) on Safeguarding Good Scientific Practices and Preventing Scientific Misconduct and has developed "Guidelines on Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice and Preventing Scientific Misconduct" all scientific employees are obliged.
IDOS's ombud's office is available as a point of contact for conflicts and questions regarding good scientific practice. It advises, for example, in suspected cases of plagiarism or unclear author relationships and mediates in conflicts on these points. All inquiries to the ombud's office are treated confidentially.
In 2007, IDOS was confirmed in its quality insurance by the German Wissenschaftsrat. The council’s report acknowledged the excellent research and policy advice services at IDOS. On the authority of the Wissenschaftsrat, the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) belongs to the leading research institutions in Germany.
