The socio-environmental conflict module takes up current issues and examples of socio-environmental conflicts in coastal and marine areas. Conceptually the module builds on political ecology. The planning game as the core of the module facilitates the promotion of complex interdisciplinary knowledge in a didactically appealing and practical way. It helps to identify synergies and trade-offs among development and conservation objectives and associated power relations among involved actors in a playful way.
