T20 Africa Standing Group
Im Mai 2017 wurde auf Initiative des German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS), des South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA) und des Instituts für Weltwirtschaft (IfW) die T20 Africa Standing Group (T20 ASG) gegründet. Sie hat zum Ziel, regionenübergreifende Wissensproduktion und evidenzbasierte Politikempfehlungen zur Kooperation zwischen der G20 und Afrika zu generieren. Das Netzwerk umfasst über 30 führende Think Tanks aus Afrika und den G20 Ländern. Diese arbeiten zu einem breiten Themenspektrum mit Bezug zu wirtschaftlichem, sozialem und politischem Wandel in Afrika und der Weltwirtschaft. Das Netzwerk erarbeitet Politikempfehlungen z.B. zu Infrastruktur, Handel, Landwirtschaft, Klima oder den politischen und sozialen Rahmenbedingungen sozio-ökonomischer Entwicklung. Die Governance-Mechanismen für Afrika-G20 Kooperation sind dabei ein wichtiger Fokus. Der Ausgangspunkt für die gemeinsame Forschung und Beratungsaktivitäten der Gruppe sind die Agenda 2063 der Afrikanischen Union, die Agenda 2030 und die Arbeitsstränge der G20. Die T20 ASG ist ein Ergebnis der ersten T20 Africa-Konferenz im Februar 2017 in Johannesburg. Sie erhält wichtige Unterstützung durch das Managing Global Governance (MGG) Netzwerk, das vom IDOS koordiniert wird.
