The Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) and the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) co-organise a consultation on "WTO and SDGs: Issues before the Nairobi Ministerial" in the context of knowledge cooperation within the Managing Global Governance (MGG) network. The event brings together participants of the MGG research project on "Social and environmental standards for the world economy" with other high-level experts from MGG and beyond.

Day I of the consultation focused on contested WTO issues such as the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA), agriculture and access to technology from a rising powers perspective. Day II was dedicated to sustainability regulation and voluntary sustainability standards in the context of both the upcoming Nairobi ministerial and the recently adopted 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
