Gemeinwohlorientierte Governance natürlicher Ressourcen

Natur und Gesellschaft bedingen sich gegenseitig. Entsprechend erkennt Cluster 2 die zutiefst soziale und politische Natur des Zugangs zu natürlichen Ressourcen, ihrer Nutzung und Bewirtschaftung an. Mit Schwerpunkt auf Entwicklungs- und Schwellenländern analysieren Forscher*innen Ressourcenkonflikte und die sozialen und ökologischen Auswirkungen von Institutionen und Politiken, die die Nutzung natürlicher Ressourcen in Land-, Wasser- und Meeresökosystemen auf multiplen Governance-Ebenen regeln. Normativ ausgerichtet auf (Umwelt-)Gerechtigkeit, Menschenrechte und ökologische Nachhaltigkeit kombinieren Forschungsaktivitäten institutionalistische Ansätze und solche, die Machtfragen in den Blick nehmen (z.B. politische Ökologie, Umweltgerechtigkeit und kritischer Institutionalismus). Institutionalistisch ausgerichtete Forschung im Cluster untersucht Bedingungen für Koordination und Kooperation im Hinblick auf nachhaltige Ressourcennutzung und die gleichzeitige Umsetzung damit verbundener nachhaltiger Entwicklungsziele (SDGs). Politisch-ökologische Forschung befasst sich damit, wie natürliche Ressourcen und Ökosysteme in Institutionen repräsentiert sind und wie Stakeholder, ihre Sichtweisen, Wissensformen und Ontologien in den politischen Prozess Eingang finden bzw. von ihm beeinflusst werden. Das Cluster liefert evidenzbasierte Empfehlungen für eine inklusive und nachhaltige, Gemeinwohl-orientierte Nutzung natürlicher Ressourcen und der Umwelt.
